[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Article 49 – Of the requirements for elevators in buildings. The elevators installed in buildings will fulfill, among others, the following requirements:
– They will be located in easily accessible circulations. Its operation will be automatic and each elevator will be occupied with self-leveling mechanisms with respect to the floor with tolerance of 1.2 cm with full load or without it. The buttons for call and actuation, exterior or interior will be located in a strip between 0.90 meters and 1.20 meters from the finished floor, they will have visual signals that indicate the call record and its dimension will not be less than 2.0 cm.
– Audible and visible signals will be placed at the entrance of each elevator to indicate the answer of calls. The audible signal will sound once for the climb direction and twice for the descent direction.
– The minimum dimensions of the lift will be 1.30 meters wide, 1.70 meters long and 2.20 meters high.
– The free space between the elevator floor and the exterior floor shall not be greater than 2.0 cm.
– The floor will be made of non-slip material.
– The elements placed on the floor will be firmly secured and will be
uniform surface.
– Minimum width of doors: 0.90 meters. The minimum free space in front of the elevator will be 1.20 meters wide and 1.50 meters long.
– In its operation, the elevators will allow stops on all floors.
– In the floors where there is a gap between the exit of the elevator and the corresponding floor, the descent or ascent in the form of a ramp should be adapted. The lower walls will be protected up to a height of 0.20 meters to avoid damage from wheelchair crashes. A mirror will be placed on the wall at the bottom of the elevator from 1.10 meters high, with a downward inclination of 10º.
– It must have devices for closing interruption when people or objects are placed in the doors threshold. The opening of doors can not prevent the free movement of people in adjacent areas.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
